We are used to series of doctors where their personal lives are sometimes more interesting than the plot of the series itself, but today I bring you an excellent medical series that I hope you will start to see it with me, and enjoy it as much as I do.

Released in 2017, made by the same producer as House M.D. David Shore, who this year decides to return with the drama, and with the doctors on the small screen; based on a 2013 South Korean series of the same name; It is produced by Sony Pictures and ABC Studios.

It is worth mentioning that this series is located in the third most watched on ABC, after Grays Anatomy, and Station; while in South Korea, this same series was not successful, and had only 20 chapters; in the Korean plot the young doctor is dedicated to medical science to fulfill a promise to his brother, while in the American production it is not like that.

This series features the iconic and talented actor who made our hair stand on end on many occasions with the Bates Motel series: Freddie Highmore; This prodigy gets into the skin of his characters and does them so well that you really immerse yourself without return in the plot, of whatever he is representing.

Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) is a young medical surgeon, who suffers from a strange, but a favorable condition that has the name “syndrome of the wise” or “Savant”; This syndrome is characterized by providing those who suffer from it with surprising mental abilities, despite their physical or motor impairments.

Those who suffer from the “Savant” may do so due to a neurodevelopmental disorder (autism spectrum) or due to brain injuries.

The medical prodigy Murphy possesses memory and mental abilities from another world, which lead him to solve problems that others would find difficult in the blink of an eye.

But Shaun has a flaw, he has no social skills, despite being a prodigy and a brilliant mind. How can you save people’s lives without possessing social skills? Great dilemma.

Currently, the series has three seasons; and it is going for its fourth installment, which will be released when the current pandemic lets productions take their course.

The Good Doctor has really caused a lot of furor among fans of this type of entertainment. And it was not far behind, regarding the pandemic, because it included among its chapters a case similar to those generated nowadays by COVID-19.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. We are reading each other!
